COMMUNITY DIARY Memories of Bedminster Mondays A Bedminster group for older people with speakers on various subjects meet at South Bristol Christian Centre Hall on Churchlands Road from 1.30pm - 3.30pm. All are welcome. __________________________________ Christmas Fayre 1st December Friends of Parson Street Primary are holding their annual Christmas fayre on Friday 1st December at the Malago Hall from 5.00pm - 7.00pm. Stalls, hamper, raffle, games, Father Christmas and more! Entry for children is free, £1.00 for adults. __________________________________ Winter Festival 2nd December A Winter Festival is taking place at Compass Point South Street School and Children’s Centre, South Street, from 10.00am - 12 noon on Saturday 2nd December. At the festival, children can enjoy lots of activities, and Father Christmas will be in attendance. __________________________________ Cheeki Monkey Market 2nd December A children’s sale of pre-loved goods will be taking place at St Aldhelm’s Church, Chessel Street, Bedminster from 1.30pm - 3.30pm. There will be quality trees and stands on sale, fresh cut misteltoe, and a complimentary tree trimming and netting service. __________________________________ Sporting Memories Group 5th & 19th December A group of older sporting fans who love to share their memories, meet up on alternate Tuesdays from 2.00pm - 4.00pm at the Southville Centre, Beauley Road.If you love talking about sport you are welcome to go along. Teams of four are invited to go along to the quiz at a cost of £5.00 per person. The price also includes a light supper. __________________________________ Windmill Hill Christmas Fair 9th December Windmill Hill City Farm is holding its annual Christmas fair from 12 noon - 4.00pm. At the fair there will be a market selling home grown produce and crafts, holly wreaths and much more. Festive food, mulled wine and mince pies will also be available along with farm produce. And look out for the magical wishing tree! Entry is £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for children. __________________________________ Christmas Craft Market 9th December Southville Centre Christmas Craft Market will have over 25 stalls selling locally handmade gifts, jewellery, textiles, art and ceramics. As well as craft stalls, there will also be face painting, family activities and delicious food from Kate’s Kitchen. Santa will also be in his grotto. Tickets for Santa’s grotto cost £5.00 and are available in advance from reception. Starts 11.00am. __________________________________ Christmas Carols 13th December Bedminster Methodist Church, British Rd, Bedminster is holding a Christmas carol evening on Wednesday 13th December at 7.00pm. There will be poems and readings, as well as carols, all in aid of the charity Julian Trust Night Shelter. __________________________________ Christmas Coffee Morning 16th December A coffee morning with Christmas stalls will take place at Bedminster Methodist Church, British Road, Bedminster at 10.30am on Saturday 16th December. Everyone is welcome to go along and browse, chat and make new friends. __________________________________ Christmas Concert 17th December Local choir ‘Break Out Voices’ will be holding their Christmas concert and party on Sunday 17th December, 6.00pm - 9.00pm. Both the adult and the children’s choir will be performing - and this year the choir will be raising money for homeless charity Emmaus. The event takes place at Southbank Club, Dean Lane, BS3 1DB. Tickets cost £5 (under 18s free). __________________________________ Lunchtime Carols For All 20th & 22nd December St Mary Redcliffe Church will be holding lunchtime carols this Christmas, taking place at 1.15pm on Wednesday 20th December, and at 2.00pm on Friday 22nd December. All are welcome. __________________________________ BS3 Helping Others Tuesdays (Not School Holidays) Anyone wishing to know more about volunteering opportunities in BS3 can go along for a chat at the Tobacco Factory on Tuesdays at 10.15am. BS3 Helping Others are based on the big table as you walk in - look out for the sign! The meetings are not held during school holidays. Saturday 18 November - Tuesday 16 January MILLENNIUM SQUARE WINTER FAIR Millennium Square will once again be providing winter fun for everyone to enjoy.
